The XLIFF import process brings translation content from the Salesforce Translation Workbench into SimpleTranslate for bulk translation. The workflow covers prerequisites, bilingual export from Salesforce, and file upload into SimpleTranslate.

For the best experience when importing translations, verify the following:
Verify Translation Workbench Is Enabled
- Go to Setup in Salesforce.
- In the Quick Find box, search for Translation Workbench.
- Select Translation Settings.
- Confirm that Translation Workbench is enabled.
Note: If Translation Workbench is not enabled or you do not have access to this setting, contact your Salesforce administrator.
Verify Required Languages Are Available
- Go to Setup in Salesforce.
- In the Quick Find box, search for Translation Workbench.
- Select Translation Languages.
- Review the list of available languages.
- Confirm that the required languages are added and active.
Note: If a required language is not listed or is inactive, contact your Salesforce administrator to have it enabled.
Steps to Import XLIFF Files
Export source metadata file from Salesforce
- Go to Salesforce > Setup > User Interface > Translation Workbench > Export.
- Export Type: Bilingual.
- Move Available Languages to Selected Languages.
- Click Export.
- Download the ZIP file from the link received by email.

Upload to SimpleTranslate
- Go to the Metadata File Translator XLIFF section in SimpleTranslate from the navigation bar.
- Click Import XLIFF File.
- Choose your ZIP file or single XLIFF file (.xlf or .xliff).
- Enter a file name and select an environment name.
- Click Upload.
- All metadata is uploaded into the SimpleTranslate system.
Note: Languages are automatically detected from your file.
