How to obtain DeepL API credentials
- Go to the DeepL API website at
https://www.deepl.com/pro-api.
- Select Sign up for free or Start free trial.
- Complete registration and log in to your DeepL account.
- Navigate to your account dashboard.
- In your account dashboard, open the Account tab.
- Scroll to the Authentication Key for DeepL API section.
- Select Copy to copy your API authentication key.
- Use this key for the Custom DeepL Translation Engine configuration.
How to create the engine in SimpleT
- Navigate to Translation Engine in the navigation bar.
- Select Create.
- Enter a Name for the engine.
- Select DeepL as the Translation Engine type.
- Enter your DeepL API Key.
- Select the Languages you want this engine to translate.
- Optionally, assign a Glossary.
- Select Create.
- Open the engine and select Inactive to activate it. Accept the DeepL Terms & Conditions when prompted.

- Requires a DeepL API key.
- Free tier includes 500,000 characters per month (subject to DeepL’s current pricing and limits).
- API keys are confidential — never share them publicly.
- Supports glossary integration and advanced configurations.
