💡 Glossary support requires a DeepL API Pro plan. Free plan keys (ending in :fx) cannot use glossaries.

Step 1 — Create a DeepL Account & Get API Key

  1. Go to https://www.deepl.com/pro-api and sign up or log in
  2. Navigate to Account → API Keys (or https://www.deepl.com/account/summary)
  3. Copy your Authentication Key

Step 2 — Create the Engine in SimpleT

  1. Go to Translation Engines → click New Engine
  2. Fill in the fields:

Name Any name (e.g. DeepL)
Translation Engine DeepL
Is Custom Engine ✅ Yes
API Key Paste the Authentication Key from Step 1
Batch Size 50 (recommended — reduce if hitting rate limits)
Glossary Select a glossary if using custom glossary translation — leave empty otherwise
  1. Click Save
